DINING
Another Pointe in Tyme - Fresh seasonal ingredients,
a sophisticated atmosphere awash in rich marbles and hand-milled mahogany,
attentive service and a selection of fine wines make dinner at this
elegant eatery a night to remember. The chef serves up such classic
fare as ahi tuna loin, beef tenderloin and grilled veal chops. Before
or after dinner, stop in at the restaurant's lounge for music, cocktails,
cigars and micro-brewed beers. Dinner is served Tuesday through Saturday,
and reservations are suggested.
Phantom Horse Grill - Celebrating the culinary spirit
of the Southwest, this bright and airy eatery offers breakfast, lunch
and dinner every day. For breakfast and lunch, diners can opt to sample
from the complete breakfast and lunch buffet, or order such entrees
as tortilla soup or the Phantom wrap from the menu. The dinner menu
includes such specialty dishes as baked sea bass tostada, seared salmon
Vera Cruz and five-color farfalle pasta. For health-conscious diners,
there are also plenty of lighter items on the menu as well. The adjacent
Sports Bar features satellite televisions, delicious appetizers, drinks
and dancing.
Aunt Chiladas - Chef Jessie Gonzales serves up delicious
Mexican fare at this festive Mexican eatery. Sip a tasty margarita,
which were named the Best Margaritas in the area by CitySearch.com,
and munch on homemade chips and Gonzales' award-winning salsa on the
cantina patio or venture into the casita-style dining room for such
zesty entrees as pechugas de pollo; smoked pork tomatillo; chicken,
shrimp or beef fajitas or homemade tamales. Mariachis stroll throughout
the restaurant on Friday and Saturday evenings to create an even more
authentic Mexican atmosphere. Aunt Chilada's is open for lunch and
dinner daily.
The Sports Bar - Taste the best of Arizona for breakfast,
lunch or dinner. Relax in the bright and airy dining room or outside
on the terraces and enjoy a spectacular view of the Valley. Adjacent
to the grill, The Sports Bar features satellite television, sports
action, delicious appetizers and dancing.
La Cabana - Even the most ardent sun worshippers have
been known to work up an appetite while lounging poolside at Pointe
South Mountain Resort. Jose Catina and La Cabana eateries offer poolside
snacks and cool drinks to keep everyone happy while they enjoy the
resort's stunning surroundings. A variety of frothy specialty drinks
like the Cactus Colada and the Mango Sunburn are sure to keep you
cool in the Arizona sun, while kids can enjoy Sun Jam Smoothies and
Shakes. Sandwiches like Roasted Salmon & Dill Salad on a Jumbo
English Muffin and Chicken Apple Almond Salad on a Croissant--as well
as more standard fare like Ham & Swiss on Rye--are among the offerings
at these casual outdoor eateries. Several salads, fruit bowls and
buffalo wings are also on the menu.
Rustler's Rooste - Set on a mountaintop overlooking
the Valley, this authentic Western steakhouse offers a fun, Old West
atmosphere, complete with "Horny the Bull," a live steer
who resides outside the eatery's old mineshaft. You can even opt to
enter the dining room by sliding down a tin slide. While guests dine
on mesquite-broiled steaks, meaty barbecued ribs, pork chops, chicken
and award-winning chili, Old Charlie entertains with cowboy poetry.
And, best of all, a homey apple pie or bread pudding make for a delicious
dessert. After dinner, you can work off the calories dancing to the
live country and Western music. Dinner is served nightly.
